i have a dell inspiron e1505, i have a ram problem one of the sticks shit the bed and now i can only turn on my computer with one of the sticks. when i put both or the bad one in it doesn't turn on. the screen stays blank and the scroll and caps lock blink about 50 times then shut off.
so i was thinking, i need to replace the bad stick of ram right? well if i were to do that could i upgrade to a higher gig. I have (2) 1-gig sticks in there right now. do they make higher gig sticks? and if so would it be allright if i put a high ram in there?
please solve my delemma.

Yes you could, problem is it may be pointless as you comp may not utilize all the ram over a set rating. You will need to google your comp and find out what the max ram you can install is. On the Dell Dim3000 the max was 2gig(1gigx2sticks.) anything more would not benefit that comp.

That is unless you have a dual processor.... then you could have someone program your system to use the processors independently and the ram as well.... oooooo... excitement...lol |

That limit is only on the 32 bit XP badseed, the 64bit XP allows higher ram usage.

Yeah you are right Badseed, unless you specified specifically or have a company computer most home computers are running the 32Bit XP OS, I just wanted to point out that only the 32bit is restricted to the 3GB, no the 64bit. Although from every thing I have heard the 64Bit version of XP is almost a suck ass as Vista!! Ahahahahaha.
