So I have been putting together my new parts.
AMD Phenom 9850 BB
Corsair Dominator Twinx 4GB
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe
Gigabyte Ultra Durable 2 Radeon HD3870 512MB
So my system is a 4 WD @250GB RAID 0 now getting 130MG/sec average throughput.
So now that summer is almost over and my travels are done I can start playing again. I definitely like my quad core system...

damn dude should have gone with the 9950 black edition its way better for the same cost.
corsair ram is ok but should have gone with GSkill
pretty good motherboard
pfft radeon cards suck hardcore. shhould have gone with a 9600 or 9800.
They laugh because we're losers...
We laugh because they just figured it out.

I have to agreee, radeon cards arent the same caliber as Nvidia, but it seems to be more of anopinion then anything else. Maybe its cause I am biased. But a sick system nonetheless. |

The 9950 was not out when I bought my 9850; I had a bad Gigabyte motherboard and RAM so RMA'ed the motherboard which Newegg then said the stopped carrying because of to many bad boards so I went with the Asus. Had to RMA my Corsair and get new. I have used them all and Corsair has proven very to be very good to me (first time I ever had bad ram from them but that can happen with any maker). Also I have been traveling allot this summer so it took me a bit to build.
ATI vs. NVIDIA I prefer ATI every day and twice on Tuesdays. ATI is a much better picture quality card that NVIDIA in my opinion. NVIDIA does have the highest FPS normally but with the current and future cards they are so fast now a few frame rates faster does not mean anything better picture quality does.
Now of course I am sure there are as many NVIDIA fans out there that think just the opposite...

Its a hard call. I'm personally an nvidia guy, just because of stability. I find ATI has crappy drivers and aren't as stable. |

either way, a video card is not worth it until a couple months after its release. i bought my 512 MB 8800 GT for $135. pretty nuts. |

Yeah I bought mine when it had first came out for pretty close to 300, haha!
Nvidia works much better with Intel systems from what i've read so that could be your problem. Ati and Amd might be the same way? I've never looked into either brand so I have no idea.
I'd take Intel and Nvidia over the competition anyday.. |

Yes that is probably true if using Intel go with Nvidia. I have heard that ATI drivers and Intel boards dont always place nice. I have had both CPU and mobo types but enjoy AMD for the performance/price (best bang for the buck). Not that any of this new technology even matters when playing CS as it is an older game.

I personally have stayed away from athlon. I had a computer a few years back with an athlon processor and window ME on it and this system provided me nothing but headaches!! I havent gone back since.
