I knew it, he picks a woman in a move that's very strategic in this election. She is very well spoken too. From Alaska, maybe we will get weed legalized.
I'd do her

This was nothing but political chess. Since the democrats were torn between a woman and a black man, McCain (well, actually somebody for McCain because he isn't that smart) chose a woman to try and bring back the voters who wanted to vote for a woman. He figures between the votes he has already secured and the voters that wanted a woman in office, that he put himself in the best possible scenario to win.
It was a smart move but there is a downside. This inexperienced woman (ok she has been in congress for 25 years, and she's only 44, so that put her congress career at 19) would be in a position that if the 72 year old McCain was to have medical issues or die in office that this 44 year old woman would be running the country. That scenario is very real as McCain recently had some cancer removed from him. What voters need to decide is not if they like McCain over Barack, but which VP they'd rather see in office.
It's going to be a close call. |

Ya I keep my opinions to myself as much as possible. I am not for McCain, not barack. I am leaning 1 way but wont say.
I really appreciated you feedback iron, and very well put.
As I said, and you also, it was a chess move that put things in a very tight position. That's what I get a kick out of.
It all goes down to history again in the making, will there be a black presidnt, or a woman VP?

The interesting part would be to see a repulbican run the white house 12 years straight. I don't think it's happened in history, but I may be wrong.

Ok.. I've been doing a bit of listening in regards to this lady... she's really something.
She's got 5 kids... one's in the army and being deployed to Iraq
One is six months old and has down syndrome
and she's got 3 daughters in between those two.
She's only been governor for 2 years in alaska, but was mayor of a city of 10000 before that and has 12 years in public office total
She's a major NRA supporter and ... I like this one..... when she took office she got rid of the security detail!
She's been responsible for complete reform in the Alaska gov't including a major ethics reform bill, the most stringent in the nation.
She blew the whistle on a crap load of crooked politicians, Repbulican and Democrat alike, and was responsible for their removal!
She's pro life and she's not agree with same sex marriage, but was responsible for getting a bill passed for same sex partners rights
She's and avid hunter and ice fisher and owns a pontoon plane.
SHe has had a approval rating of 80-90 percent since she took office and has a take no prisoners reputation.
She's for drilling for oil in alaska and has been pivital in setting up a new major natural gas line and drilling in alaska
She's easy on the eyes.... thank god.....
She got rid of the alaska gov't private jet!....
She's refused the funds for the bridge to nowhere......
I dunno about you guys..... but DAMN! Half of the guys and all the women in washington don't have resume's even half that good and they're making decisions for us.
I've been bouncing back and forth on this one... but with her appointment... she makes for a very strong contender.... btw... did anyone notice her speach without notes and a teleprompter? HELLO?! Very interesting and poised woman......

Noticed that right off, and all that you stated I saw on NBC nightly news. Very nice background she has.
