Not too many people know what Memorial Day is for. When I was a kid, it meant a 3 day weekend and I didn't care what my dad was dressing up in his air force blues for. I just knew it was a day I could sleep in. To others it may have been something else? Who knows. If to you it was exactly what it should be.....A day to remember soldiers killed while fighting for our country....then I'm sure you still feel the same today.
Take time out today and think about the sacrifices people have made for us, and they didn't even know us. If it weren't for the men and women who died fighting for us, we wouldn't be able to do the things we can today, and the world would be a much darker place ran by whatever psycho had enough drug money to rule the frickin world I'm sure.
It doesn't matter if you have family in the military or not. It doesn't matter if no one in your family has ever seen combat in war. Men and women, some who I am sure used to live near us, have gone to Iraq " For a more recent war ", and they haven't came back alive. YOU CAN DISAGREE with the reason our troops have been deployed.......by all means......
BUT TODAY....REMEMBER THAT THEY DIED SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE LIKE YOU DO TODAY.

Its a good post Poet. We should all remember that even if we are against goverment policy, we should never be against the solders sent to carry out that agenda. They did not sign on to pick and choose they signed on to defend the rights and beliefs that we all share.
