I am looking at upgrading my desktop at home and undecided about a video card. I have been a huge ATI fan for a long time now but not sure which card(s) I want. Does anyone here use dual cards (crossfire) how does it work? Is it worth it?
I was looking at the Sapphire 3850 w1GB ram at newegg, or 3870 X2 which has 2 GPU on it... but it is allot more money and probably not enough bang for the buck.
Ideas? What works best with CS? I am running a X850 Radeon now.

I'm looking at the new system with the AMD phantom quad 64 chip setup. IT will also have the new 7800 chipset which makes it that you don't need a video card. If you get a ati video card, it uses it only if it can't handle the video load . Awsome new technology..... I havent had any issues with my ati or nvidea cards..... as far as dual chip cards... know nothing about them.... but.... Check out the AMD website. AMD and ATI are now housed under the same roof.
Good Luck

Yes I am defintiely looking at ATI/AMD as I am running AMD Ahtlon 64 X2 4400 now with 4GB Corsair XMS TWINX and 1TB x4 250GB WD drives SATAII, 24inch Dell LCD. Looking at getting the new AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition with a Gigybte motherboard with 790FX AMD chipset and DDR2 4GB Corsair again. Just could not decide if I should do 1 video card or 2 and get crossfire going. So many decisions so much money ....

With the new chipset, I wonder if you get one card wether you can split the signals like you would if you had two cards? Being as you have video card type capabilities without a card becuase of the new chipset structure. With adding a card I wonder if you can run the dual option? SHould look into that possibility

I dont think its worth running dual graphics cards, I would stick with one. ATI has the new 9800 1Gb card out. My buddy has it and likes it. I have not heard good things about the evaga brand diablo brought up, sorry diablo.
Where's BOB??????
