Arian controversy
The Council of Nicaea
By 325, the controversy had become significant enough that the Emperor Constantine called an assembly of bishops, the First Council of Nicaea, which condemned Arius' doctrine and formulated the Original Nicene Creed, forms of which are still recited in Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and some Protestant services. The Nicene Creed's central term, used to describe the relationship between the Father and the Son, is Homoousios, or Consubstantiality, meaning "of the same substance" or "of one being". (The Athanasian Creed is less often used but is a more overtly anti-Arian statement on the Trinity.)
my favorite part is that they decide this 300 years after his death not meeting him or anyone who even knew him.

Well..... we need to make a new section on GOD so you can talk about it there. Religion is a very personal thing to most. Maybe not to you but most others.

Yeah but discussion on Religion and politics rarely end well. Normally it ends in a huge drama fest. Just some food for thought.

But let's truely look at this... he's merely quoting information he's learned. He's not forcing his views on anyone and it'd merely historical information he's passing on to whomever chooses to read it. Or am I off my rocker...? Hey I'm old school.. yeah religion is a very touchy subject, no offense sub but every one knows that when some one comes out with information like that it causes heated discussions. I'm not saying your point is or isn't valid, and your opinoins are definitely respected here, all i'm saying is that you don't know how people are going to react about that stuff and you don't want to hurt anyone. I'm all for stirring up the pot a little bit but this is a line that should be respected.
