SONY.... FOR REAL!
Scooby
Well .. i'm ready to freaking loose it. Over half the games they make require you to be online... and here we are, once again, shut down because they can't get their head out of their ass. After one hack, then their movie studios, and they of course still didn't thing their shit stank and let their damn service get hacked again. You spend the money to get the kids their requested games... money not well spent apparently.

You'd think that when the hack came down on the Sony movie studio, Microsoft and Sony would have doubled down their efforts on securing their networks so that the gamers wouldn't be dealing with the clusterfuck we are all in now. The bigger, the worst customer service it seems anymore. It's a sad day when you can count on one hand how many companies you would recommend due to their customer service.

Your thoughts?... just curious

I hate the whole cloud-oriented, online services required ties that games have these days. What happened to the good old hard-copies and offline play? Don't get me wrong -- I'm all for virtualization and reduction of footprint where it makes sense. But if these problems are due to Sony trying to consolidate and save money by cutting back on layered security, as is happening all over the place, I think it needs to be reevaluated. Built by humans, broken by humans.

It is very disappointing to see that such a large company can be brought down like this. I work as a network engineer for one of the largest news media/financial corporations, and we have our problems too, but this is just embarrassing. Hopefully they are working behind the scenes to implement a more secure, better structured stack.
