Again I'll start this off.
For the first time in over a year I had fast food. For the past 3 years I havent cooked or had the time to. Living in a city like Chicago we had a lovely service called GrubHub.
Past two nights though I have been in such a rush coming home that I've gone to McDonalds and ordered McChickens to go. The grossest food ever.
I'm going out tomorrow for a business meeting and we're having Italian. I don't where the hell we are going but I'm in the mood for Lobster Ravioli!
What are you guys having for dinner?

Yeah, the last few weeks have been a blur of different places. I've done:
Bucca de Beppo - California Italian restaurant chain. Good food, had Ziti, Manicotti, and Eggplant Parmesan. I can honestly say they Eggplant is REALLY good. I got all the dishes with a Rossa sauce. Rossa is a combination of Marinara and Alfredo sauces.
Claim Jumpers - 22 oz Bone in Ribeye with a sweet potato and salad. Had lobster and shrimp cakes... they were ehhh...
Pizza - did Pizza Hut and Dominos last night. Thought I'd try some different pie. They were alright, but nothing to write home about. My regular places are New York Pizza and Papa Murphys. Papa Murphys stuffed crust is awesome. I let mine sit out a bit and start to rise, put a basting of olive oil on the crust and then throw it in the oven. I'll easily get a 2" thick crust on it if not a bit more. YUM For those of you who don't know, Papa Murphys is a take and bake franchise.
Chefs Table - Wholly crap. Lived here for around 15 years, place has been in existence for 6 and never knew it was there. Hole in the wall place and can only seat around 40 people. The food is unbelievable. It is 5 star food at a reasonable price. Entres were only $12 a plate and were good size.
Ordered a Open face turkey sandwich with apples and a blue cheese alfredo type sauce with a strawberry drizzle. DAMN good.
Wife had a chicken sandwich with apple, brie, Avocado, and butter lettuce and some kind of sauce - excellent.
Also did a reuben sandwich with apple and some kind of house sauce on a rye swirl bread. Brought the reubin home for the son, but tasted it. Only had one better reuben and it had apple kraut on it, but that is another story.
I ordered a batch of their pesto fries to go with our meal... appeared to have a mozza cheese on them and the pesto was home made. If you like pesto, you will love these. Hands down the best fries I've had in a long time if not ever.
For desert we had their version of bread pudding which was Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in a custard with some kind of fruit mixed in. Crazy right? Was sooo good.
Also had a Pear Crisp with home-made Vanilla ice cream. More yum.
So just a small bit if info. Enjoy.

Last night I had a 1/2 lb burger, shrimp basket with fries, and a thing of jalapeno poppers.. I think I was going to explode..
For breakfast I'm working on a big salad with romaine lettuce, breaded chicken breast, bacon, cheddar cheese, carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers with ranch dressing.. I like to start my mornings off with greens and some protein to go with it

Just went to Bucca di Beppo myself! Great pasta and their meatballs are nearly as big as my fist. Pretty great. |
