Interesting, but not very practical. Storage is dependent on keeping the DNA cold and dry. With the lack of reliability of electrical systems world wide the cost to provide reliable and redundant back up systems would make this a very expensive option.
Where's BOB??????

Great innovative idea but to echo ohyesidid, it's not practical and won't be for a very very long time. All in all, pretty cool though.

The only bad things I see about dna tapping for information is, if there is information inside you how will they extract it? Ok so if an rfid is used what ever you carry won't be secure so why would you want it?

Gents.... DNA programming with inserting data has been going on for a few years now. As far as it being a long way out, it's usually more close than people realize as reports of this kind of thing were circulating 10+ years ago.
