Link to Ban: http://sourcebans...mp;Submit=
------------------------------------------------- TL;DR: Guilty as charged. Will resist in the future. Will always respect any admin's requests. Please consider lifting my permanent ban because I love this server and the people in it.
Offense:
As of Friday (7/20/12), I was placed on the Ban list with a banlength of “permanent.” My offense listed on the Sourceban site is “Spamming Mic/Chat,” which is more likely in regards to the microphone, not the chat. Nonetheless, I realize this is indeed Rule #5 on DogzGaming’s MOTD, and I am guilty of violating said rule.
Specifically, the admin who banned me “badseed,” aka Halliburton Hurricane Machine, spoke with me over the mic while in-game prior to my permanent ban. He said I had been singing a song over the mic, which would be considered mic spamming, and I will admit that I was most likely singing. I do not do this to annoy or for the purpose of spamming, but mostly because I’m having fun and my impulsiveness got the best of me. Nonetheless, this does not excuse the fact that I was violating Rule #5.
Reasons I ask for Forgiveness:
I’ve been dedicated to this server for quite a while, now (hence the 2mins and 8sec short of a connection time of 8 days). I keep coming back because it is well-populated, has a good community of regular players, but, the reason I stick around is for the conversation and good company. The majority of my Steam Friends were befriended thanks to the Dogz GG [Iceworld/Funtimes] server. This is the main reason I use the microphone as often as I do.
My biggest reason for me asking that my ban be considered for forgiveness is because I do not think the crime fits the punishment. Never have I attempted to hack on this, let alone any, server, nor do I intend to ever ruin the game by hacking. I have never spammed the microphone with pre-recorded sounds, nor have I done so with malicious intent.
I admit that my impulsiveness often gets the better of me, and, in turn, this may get on other players’ nerves. I do, however, welcome every and any person that wants to let me know that whatever I’m doing is bothering them, and I would be glad as to acquiesce to his or her request. I could use a reminder or two every now and again.
I apologize for those who I’ve inconvenienced, and I promise to be not only more conservative with my use of the mic, but most receptive to the complaints of others as to foster an enjoyable gaming environment for all.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best,
Kevin (aka murdock92188)

Ps. This is also of great concern to me considering I just broke my foot 2 days ago, and I will be off of work and sitting at home for a good amount of time in the next 6-8 weeks. Needless to say, I'll PROBABLY be playing a little counter-strike: source. Edited by murdock92188 on 25-07-2012 22:57
This is your 3rd ban for the same reason in less than a month and a half. I do not see this ban being overturned, but we will discuss this and get back to you.
I understand what you are saying; however, I was not warned to take it easy or to stop using the microphone by "badseed," or anyone else for that matter, prior to neither the 1st nor 2nd temporary bans.
The reason I feel the permanent ban is unjust is for exactly that reason. If I was cautioned or requested to stop using the microphone, I would have been most cooperative. However, that was not the case. This, alone, is why I spend any time asking that you consider my request.
(If you require any character references on my behalf, I'd be happy to provide them to you.)
After review we've decided to overturn your ban. You'll be unbanned at 4:00 est. Fri. Please note that talking is definitely allowed but excessive rants and constant singing is not. Enjoy the servers, and please follow the rules.
