Well, to start... I know it may seem that starting a second thread about me complaining about the "Update" they did for CSS... but I'm not really going to talk about how stupid of an update it is, I'm going to talk about how it killed my fun.
Now, I'm not talking about playing the game, oh no. I'm talking about the countless relaxing hours I spend in Hammer, SDK's nifty little program that allows me to build wonderful maps for us Dogz and Dogz wannabes to play on. But sadly, since they decided to kill their own game, I cannot! The update to the new engine (2009 from the 2006) has actually BROKEN the program! You can't load maps properly and when you try, it crashes out!
Oh yes, there IS a handy dandy tutorial to change stuff around to make the 2009 working with Counter Strike Source (you can find it easily on FPS Banana) but it's all hosh posh in the end... because the Compiler is still broken! I'm working on getting a 3rd party compiler to work... I know there's the Valve Batch Compile Tool, and Zoner's Tools, and Nems... but for some reason, I don't quite understand how they work yet. If any of you guys do, please hit me up (my email and msn is in my profile) I would really like to finish my maps for you guys.
So, in the end... I'm frustrated and really peeved at Valve for this piece of crap update. I just want to have fun.
Compiles on only the 2009 engine update, but can import maps from the old engine, and recompile them for the new engine. Not sure if you can still compile via the 2006 engine, I'll check later.

from what I seen the Valve Batch Compile Tool works still, so I can do stuff fine with it, but the problem is, the textures have now been dicked with. The 2009 engine does not recognize Skybox or Invisible default textures.
