Well, I bought a new keybard a couple of days ago, and it said it needed a driver to run. So I installed the driver, and no luck. I also tried the keyboard on 3 other computer, which were running different OS' to see if it made a difference. I searched around on tech forums and stuff, but couldn't find anything to help me. I called Direct Canada, and they just told me to send it back. In the mean time, I uninstalled the keyboard driver. It told me I needed to restart, so I did. Now it doesn't start up. I plugged in a blank HD and it worked, so that meant the my HD was messed up. I wiped it clean (I needed to get rid of alot of stuff anyways) and plugged it back it. My computer started, so I hit F10 to boot from the disk. When I tried installing Windows 7, it gave me an error saying that something in a USB slot was interupting the installation prosess. I had nothing plugged in except my old keyboard which was a PS/2 slot. No matter what I did, it gave me the same error. So, since it was running XP before, I tried installing that again. I got up to the screen where you ok k which partion to install on (C, D) and it said "unknown disk. Pleaseninsert a disk" (it's talking about my HD, btw). Now, after about 30 seconds of saying that, I would get the BSOD.
Anybody know what to do? |

what kind of computer you have? If it is a Dell, HP or any other computer you buy and not build it will have a partition on it with your recovery info.....operating system. You need the original hard drive that came with computer.
If you built the computer you should have a disc with the operating system on it so you can reinstall it

It's a custom built computer, and I have all the OS disks. I've reinstalled the OS many times before without an issue. My computer runs fine with my backup hard drive, but not with my main one. Also bob, why even post If your not posting anything helpful? |

Sorry, I thought you were just stating the obvious. I already returned the keyboard, and I was just a little pissed off that my computer doesn't work, it had nothing to do with you. Sorry bob. |
