the lag isn't because of bullet time.. i think gameservers threw more servers on our connection... i've been talking to em |

Do our players know to change their TICK (or client rates) to match the 100tick server? That's will change things up a lot. It helped me drop my choke to 0-10 for the most part.
All the talking doesn't help either - VOIP is bandwidth intensive (as a general rule). I do think that the extra drawing of the bullets will add processor cycles, though it didn't hurt me too much on my lil laptop.
Core came in last night and fixed the tracers..

all my rates are at 100 the cl_updaterate and the cl_cmp something. But I did a lot of reading last night. I tried to fix the rates like several sites said to do. And I dont remember having this much choke. And it would be different if I got it on hydros and BA servers. |

That's true. If you were on DoGz and then switched immediately to a hydro or ba server and they had the same number of people, would the chokes still be different?
I'm thinking about what Core said with them adding another "server" on the "connection" (they're shared hosting accounts on a single box... let's be real lol). That would definitely degrade our server's performance, especially on the pipe depending on it's bandwidth/throughput.
Let's do some more testing to see if we can't get you all fixed up and stuff.

Thanks...here is what I have been reading. There was less people in both but here lately I dont think that has really mattered in the dogz gg server. I didn't check our Cal server though.

This one didn't help much because it is server side stuff...but it refered me to the above.

you get choke when a server wants to send you information but cannot. either because your client connection is too slow. or the servers upload cannot handle the demand.. The service we use might have added another server (maybe not the same box) on the same pipeline that ours uses. this would severely increase choke.. I don't know if you guys remember but I remember getting 0 choke about 2 months ago. hence it leads me to believe we are no longer getting the bandwidth we are paying for. So i'm talking to the support there. |

It is ok i guess when there are like 10 people on but when we have a full server it geets crazy all you c across the screen is white and that sucks cause the you may as well have hade a flash thrown in ur face! I also know that we can change the colors to red and blue... but is there a way to load it only on big maps or when there are 10 or under people?

Other thing it does is while it's active, svr_cheats or whatever is it is turned on, so someone could take advantage of that.
Maybe low grav comes on at the last kill? or anti-grav even.

when the tracers r active i find myself watching them and i usually end up getting killed -- it is a bit distracting |
