Computer Problem
The Deer Hunter
All right ladies, gentlemen and pretzel I have a new computer issue!

My computer magically takes up space. I have no viruses to speak of and haven't been dling or saving anything to the hard drive. When I do dl anything it goes straight to my external.

Yesterday I had 7.86 gigs free and this morning i turned the bad larry on and it said I had 4.7 gigs free. This has been going on a while and now its getting close to filling up. what should I do?

and if you say stop looking at porn, not only will you use the most cliche internet joke I will also never stop doing it. haha jk.

love you guysssssss <3

How old is your comp? What OS are you running? what processor? how much ram? Is this a boxed system (compaq, dell, HP)? Need more information.

I wish my computer automaticly downloaded 3 gigs of porn every night Sad

Can you check your HD and see what new files or anything are on it?

Its about 3 years old and still runs fine considering. I have a dell inspiron, windows vista

processor: intel(r) core(tm)2 cpu t7200 @2ghz 2ghz
2gb of ram
32-bit operating system

and i'm under service pack 1

is that everything you need?

First do you shut your computer down every night or are you leaving it running? Second Are you sure you have not picked up a worm or a trojan? After this I would recommend testing your hard drive, it may be getting "Bad Sectors" due to software corruptions or mechanical issues with in your hard drive. Lastly It would not hurt for you to drop that shitty Vista 32 OS and get a W7 64bit OS. Let me know your answers to the 2 questions above though.

i tend to leave it sleeping but have been shutting it down this past week. also i'm prety sure i havent picked up anything i'm running a test now and so far i'm clean. are there any other virus softwares that are good. right now i'm using dr web cure it, that program solved my tmp issue about 2 years ago.

A reformat would not hurt. You should set your internet browser to hold info for 0days and insure you clear it out on a regular bases. Problem is if your using an old virus scan program or if you do not use it often it may not pick up on new viruses. I am using ESET but its too early to tell if its good or not. You should shut your comp down it allows the hardware time to cool off and will better your chances of it not crapping out on you due to exeding its hour of operation rating. Also if the W7 copy you have is 64bit you may get the advantage of being able to increase your ram and speed your comp up a bit. 32bit OS's limit your ram to just under 4GB.
