so as most of u know, i had a virus which made me have to reformat my computer. while i did that, i decided to install windows 7 ultimate. now when i play, my ping is much higher than what it used to be. does anyone know what could have caused that. my rates are proper. could it be the windows 7? appreciate any help i can get. |

Could be related to you ethernet card driver. Make sure you have the latest one that is compatible with Windows 7. |

Also check to see if you have "Automatic Windows Updates" enabled. When I had vista, this was giving me a higher ping, even when it was not downloading anything. If its on, try disabling it, and just manually check for updates every couple of days. |

If your Ultimate is like my Pro disable the auto driver function as it may inhibit your ability to properly install the latest Nvidia drivers. I will have to locate the command as I seemed to have miss place it right now.

Cool, I was gonna say don't upgrade an OS on a box that's built with a certain OS, but I'm old skool.
