Windows Vista 64 bit
Scooby
Ok guys... I'm to soon be getting a new laptop. It is supposed to have Windows Vista 64 bit version. It will also have 4 gb of ram.... to that end, are any of you running Vista 64 bit version? If so, how has your interaction with 32 bit programs going? I would have gotten a 32 bit version, but it was FREE... and well... I thought I'd better get the most modern of software and hardware. I've never used Vista, and have no experience with the program, All I have is xp and earlier and everything is 32 bit.... so new waters for me. Let me know your thoughts and experiences.

64bit compatibility is a thing of the past for new hardware.

As long as there are 64bit drivers for everything, which there should be if its preloaded, you won't have a problem.

I'm running vista 64, q6600, 4gb ram. Never had an issue.

I suppose that its an AMD laptop then. Not many manufacturers include vista 64 with Intel processors.

ROFl.... yeah.... it's amd..... ALL THE WAY. Never intentionally going Intel ever again. Have you had any software issues with the Vista 64 version? Even counter strike ... or any other software programs?

Never had an issue. Runs the same as vista 32 but can handle more memory.

BTW, my 3.8GHz overclocked quad core Intel will eat any AMD cpu. Grin
