Ok, Whatever you do, do not buy a Moto X. I am now going on my third replacement phone because of issues with the phone. First phone kept telling me there was no network available, So I couldn't make calls, If it did allow me to make a call it would randomly hang up mid call. This new replacement phone I cant get the camera to work, So Verizon is sending a 3rd replacement. If it doesn't work i told them I expect a free upgrade away from the Motorola. i really think i will ask for a Samsung next time.

Samsung Note 3.
Switch to tmobile and just pay $29/mo
Best phone hands down. Bought it for the business and works great.

I was with Tmobile before the switch to Verizon, problem is that Tmobile has very poor coverage around this area and Verizon has great coverage.
Galaxy S_ will be the next phone I get.

I would get the a Galaxy Note, or a Galaxy s4 or s5 active. Better battery life. My s3 hold a charge but I expected longer.

Shit... I've had tmobile for over 10 years. I have an old HTC G2 which was made for tmobile... about 5 years ago. I have beat the ever lovin crap out of this thing. Little slow, but the features I have on this thing I haven't been able to duplicate on another phone... not to mention it has a slide qwerty board.
I got a Samsung Galaxy S.. also with a slide out querty. It's ok, but my performance is just minimally better and doesn't have the same options. I run two phones now. I use the G2 for work.. just cuz I can''t seem to kill the damn thing, and change out to the Samsung when I get home. Not to mention that I can set my old G2 up as a hotspot for free because the software was never configured to charge you for hotspot time like on the newer phones. WINNA WINNA CHICKEN DINNA!
My oldest son has the Sony X2 I think it's called.. I dunno.. but water proof up to 3 meters or some thing. It lasted him a bit, but he is like the ultimate phone destroyer. He hasn't met a phone yet he hasn't broken! IT seems to be a really good phone though. Just so I make this clear... he even took out a G2... yup the one I've had for 5 years, no phone survives him. Untill they make them water/shock/runover proof... he's screwed.

I'm all about the key board too. I'm on sprint and had a Samsung Epic 4g for years but it kinda went to shit because they wouldn't release android updates for it so it was stuck in like 2.3 if I recall. Recently picked up a motorola photon Q 4g LTE off amazon for $100 shipped and new (or it may of be a refurbed but it still had all the stickers, original packaging, looked spotless, etc). Been really happy with it. The epic was a tough phone but I did go through three of them in about 4 years. But with my job I tend to ruin them a lot. With the motorola I can just pick another up of amazon for $100 which is what they'd charge me for an insurance claim on the epic. I have to have a slider/full key board though. Can't text on a touch screen for the life of me lol. Dunno how long the photon is gonna hold up since I just go it, but so far I really like it. I kinda got use to the galaxy s operating system from samsung so it's taking some time to learn motorola's but it's been doing me good, it's plenty fast for still being an "older" phone, and it's the right price for me. It's getting harder to find the sliders anymore.
Don't touch me there.

Yeah Scooby, i had a HTC G2 for many years and it was the best phone hands down for tmobile. Sometimes the hinge would feel loose, but didnt bother me. The phone was almost durable as a nokia handset.
I gave to my mom after her G2 fell in the pool.
What a great phone it was.

Hell yeah. I don't know how many times I've dropped it, kicked it, whatever.... thing just keeps coming back for more. I did loose the charge port on it a couple months ago, just went out and bought a battery charger for it and it continues to live for 6+ hours a day. I wish they still made em like that. I've been tempted to break in and do a software upgrade for it with a newer android OS, but time is money and right now I'm buried in work. I'll be running over 50 fields a week this year.... and will have set up at least 70.
Paint, paint, paint.... I might need a serious business partner soon. I'm starting to feel the burn out.

50 fields wow! Are your customers mostly like commercial (baseball stadium, high school yard) or do you also have home owners who want it in their backyards? Happy to hear business is doing well.

Soccer, Lacross, Flag Football, Softball, Rugby. Right now Soccer is prevalent with some Flag Football. 47 of my 50 a week are soccer and 3 are flag football. City and Sports Clubs are my primary clientele at the moment. |
