Did anyone pickup the console? Did you have any problems?
Some are reporting issues with the controller. The rubber on the analog sticks wear off quick.
I hope Sony resolves these issues in the later batches.

I'd say neither. Right now all the titles available from Sony can be had for the Playstation 3 and are FREE FOR ONLINE GAMING! PS4 you MUST pay for Playstations online gaming option in order to play online. Xbox is always pay to play. Buy a PS3... |

buy the one. I mean really if you are looking for a full entertainment option the one is the better choice. I mean that is if you have a pc and not an crapple.

So far the PS4 is great. no problems with it yet (hopefully it stays that way). and the controller is so far pretty good.
Killzone is gorgeous and a ton of fun, and Assassins Creed 4 is a hell of a lot of fun.
That said, if you have a good enough pc, you dont need the console
unless you are interested in console specific titles, in which case, get the console that has the titles you want.
Both systems are going to be super powerful compared to their older siblings, and there are going tone of improvements in the first year for both consoles.

It's been pretty solid for me. BF4 games weren't easy getting into, but maybe that'll be fixed soon (or maybe it already is). I've always been a big Sony fan since it's what I grew up with. I'm still excited to see what Microsoft can do with the Xbox One, though. Though I say that, I'm still pretty much on the side of the PS4. |

I'm probably gonna get one when some good exclusives come out. As of now though my pc completely and utterly destroys the ps4 and xbox1 so I don't see any need for them for now.

Honestly here's the thing. A bit of history....
THEN - When PS3 and XBox 360 came out, Sony went the way of the all encompassing entertainment console and Microsoft went all gaming. Sony was the more powerful and better graphics of the two. Microsoft had some great titles and offered some better expansion offerings.
NOW - PS4 and XBox 1 come out, Sony has gone the way of the primarily gaming console with lots of power, great graphics and options for later expansion and Microsoft has gone the way of the all encompassing entertainment console.
So here's the thing, with all the great stuff they add to these consoles, the biggest issue for Microsoft will be keeping these thing operating properly. Every time Microsoft does software updates on a PC it screws up something, I have a feeling this will become the case on the XBox One. It's more of a PC/Entertainment system, and they can never seem to combine these well without problems later. They can NEVER leave well enough alone. Sony on the other hand has had some issues, but keeps things simple enough it seems that they don't screw it up over time. IF they build something they make sure it's a solid operating system and only expand it within parameters of which the machine can handle it.
At this point Sony has the more powerful of the two systems and Microsofts has more bells and whistles... It's comes down to what your needs and finances are. Honestly, I prefer Sony over Microsoft as I prefer the better picture and have a great history of offering long lasting electronics. I do view all my movies through my PS3 at the moment. Online gaming is FREE and the titles are the same as the PS4. Additionally, with the sales out there right now, you can get some great titles with the purchase of the PS3 and get the machine for $200. Win, Win, WIn. Yes the PS3 will become outdated at some point, but with the glitches that come with new machines, Sonys blue screen and currently its Microsofts cd drive, it's not worth it for the aggravation as the new systems haven't truely offered a new groundbreaking advancement worth dropping $500 for.
All in all... my PS3 is all of 8 years old. I DID buy it right away when it first came out. I just recently replaced the DVD/Blueray drive and got the Blue Screen awhile back, which ended up being a cold solder issue, which has been rectified. I'd say it's seen more operating time than any computer in my home as it is on almost 24/7 for the last 8 years. Need I say any more.
Just a few thoughts to mull over...

PSN was free. now I believe with the PS4 it is like Microsoft and Xbox Live where you will need to purchase monthly/yearly access to it.
That said, XBl Gold is solid, PSN I think offers some better aspects.
Currently, Gold Members on Xbox Live have access to TWO (2) free games a month, HOWEVER, once that time frame is up (16 days per game..1-16, 17-30 or something like that) you cannot get that game for free again.
for PSN +, the free games everyone month are available for you to get as long as you are a PSN + subscriber...
so there are different perks to each system.
But honestly, it comes down to preference and the games available.
Both are solid systems. Both with fun as hell to play with friends.
Get the one that suits your needs and has the games you want.

What the hell, why can't microsoft include the power brick inside the xbox one? Sony did it with every console starting from the PS1 all the way to PS4. I mean, can't they just pay sony for designing a slim power supply and fit it in their systems? I have a xbox 360 and that damn power supply is almost big as the system itself.

They don't want that added heat in their system. It makes perfect sense to me.

Not gonna lie, that's pretty awesome. But no! True to my PC.
Don't touch me there.
