I've been looking for a desktop that will be able to run Source and GO smoothly without any lag or studder. I know i've said GO blows but i have no alternative, since mostly all of my friends will be switching to GO. Anyway, i just want to be able to keep my fps above 50. I have a laptop with an INTEL HD integrated graphics, can't run Source or GO on minimum graphics with 300 fps unless i fps max to 34 on source. As for GO, its terrible, i can barely move, studder is ridiculous.

well first things first, what's your budget? how old is your laptop? because my shitty dell 1525 ran cs:s just fine, with about 50 fps (any maps with water, etc. significantly dropped the fps).. besides the whole overheating part. Pfft but really, cs:s should run fine on almost any time of pc/laptop. so if that's not running right, then i can only imagine how terrible cs:go is.

My budget is 400-500. I bought this laptop on june of last year. It was running perfectly fine within the first few months of my purchase.

In that price range, you should probably go for a desktop, i just built one for a buddy that came in at 450, it had some cheap case, an amd apu, 4gb ram, 500gb sata3, usb3 550w psu i think?

newegg/tigerdirect is your friend, and yes an apu can run this game nicely =D

I agree. That budget you will get the most bang for the buck from a desktop. If you don't mind buying second hand, you might even be able to find a steal on craigslist even. The laptop I'm using right now, I bought off craigslist a little over 3 years ago now. It was $1400 online, but got it for $800 cash.

Just a thought...

Thanks but i prefer building/buying my own. I don't really like things secondhanded. I'm not much of a computer tech, so i really need someone to help me through.

If you'd like to give me a hand on building my desktop, just let me know. PM me through here, that goes for "chuff" and "Sniper."

I've built my rig for $600, but I've been recycling parts like monitors/keyboards/etc...

A gaming fresh gaming rig for that low of price however is pushing it unless if you know someone that builds for a living and doesn't mind parting with spare parts for cheap/free.

It will make you 35-95% better at any video game, Decrease your ping by around 7ms, Improve your libido, Make food taste better and allow nice girl (aka pepper or some shit now) to skype video chat you in the nude between the hours of 2 and 4 a.m.

Frys is Compusa replacement store. The alternative is Microcenter, which is like frys, but they only have pickup option, you cant order and get it shipped to your place.

Frys, newegg, microcenter, monoprice, tigerdirect are kickass!

Newegg or eBay and resort to craigslist for final ending...

$40 miniITX case with PSU/slim-dvd drive...
$100 miniITX mobo
$100 corei3 cpu with intelhd gfx

spare parts like HDD, and cheapo gfx card on sale at newegg for $30...

Not even $350ish in upgrading mouse/keyboard!

Handles CS:GO fine.

Rampage I'd say just save up for a couple months get a good solid grand to put on a machine that will be a hell of a pc and easily withstand years of play on csgo. My 7 year old rig is running csgo with around 130 fps and css around 320 fps and I paid 1200 for it 7 years ago and prices are coming down with the new stuff. So just save up and hit it when you get the money. Try removing some of the .net framework patches from your current pc as they do alot of seeding issues that leak memory

I can't afford a desktop worth $1000. I'm only 15, i make my own money and i buy my own stuff. I only have two alternatives, which are 1) Buying a simple desktop that will run CSGO smoothly on high worth around 600-700 or 2) Find myself a job which will pay me $7.67/hour and just save up for 2-3 months.

I even had to quit CS because it's no fun with studder, and on top of that, school just started.

Rampage you have 6-700 to spend on a pc that's with monitor?
Let me see if I can find you a build for that. I want you to get back in game.

Well i would spend $6-700 with a monitor but i have two so that's out of the question. I say $3-500 for the tower. The rest i will probably use it to buy Mouse, keyboard, headset, mousepad, etc.
